I began my professional career as a Creative Arts Therapist. It fascinated and delighted me to witness the art process and the finished pieces as physical manifestations of the artists' personalities, their struggles, and their joy. The messages in these images were sometimes subtle, sometimes glaring, and often previously undiscovered by the artist. The insight gleaned was truly magical.
I have always been fascinated by image-making as a portal to one's inner world – as a means for uncovering unconscious or otherwise hidden beliefs and experiences. I believe wholeheartedly in the power of the art process to heal, to transform, to communicate that which cannot be spoken for one reason or another.
In recent years, I began a meditation practice rooted in Kundalini Yoga. I began receiving very clear and potent images during periods of deep meditation, and I felt compelled to put them to canvas. It soon became quite clear that it was time to focus on my own creative expression; that I had never given it the chance to develop and flourish.
As did so many others, I re-evaluated my life purpose in the midst of the pandemic. Heartspace Gallery and Studio was established in the winter of 2022, and has proven to be one of the most sacred gifts I have ever given to myself. Through a daily meditation practice into which I incorporate drawing and painting, I have come to understand that we are of greatest service when we align with our true purpose. I use my practice to maintain a clear creative channel, and I am tremendously fortunate to find that the imagery manifested during deep meditation resonates most with my audience. It is my honor to share this work - and this practice - with you.

My primary medium has always been oil paint. Its buttery sensuousness is unmatched; the texture, the scents, the variation, the tradition...all of it brings me back to oils every time. This multi-sensory experience has deepened as I have learned to make my own paint, using powdered pigments and oils of varying viscosity to achieve more nuanced effects.
In recent years, I began experimenting with watercolor while working on illustrations for a children's book. In many ways, watercolor is the near opposite of oil: it dries fast, it is nearly unworkable after it sets, even the sequence of color application is completely inverted. I was drawn to it because of the speed at which pieces could be completed and ready to deliver, and I have so enjoyed getting to know this medium and its behavior.
I had avoided acrylics since high school for expressive work for similar reasons: it dries faster than I can commit to an image or execution. After discovering and experimenting with different acrylic mediums, I have come to love them and have created some beautiful paintings in acrylic.
While it feels strange to vacillate between oil, watercolor, and acrylics - sometimes multiple times in a day - the code-switching appeals to my attention deficits, and I believe it has made me a better painter. I am pleased to be able to offer different types of media to my clients for commissioned and original work.
As an artist, I am driven to express my own inner world, to tell my story with clarity and authenticity. In my creative practice, I have found that meditation takes me to a place where I can connect with my truest self, and also access the universal truths that connect us all.

When I was studying and practicing art therapy, I was drawn to the work of Carl Jung, one of the forefathers of modern psychology. He identified the "collective unconcsious," in which all humans share a deep-seated knowing and connection that is depicted in symbology and visual language. Evidence of this appears in ancient cultures across the world that are otherwise not related at all. The idea that we are able to tap into this shared vibration resonated with me – it’s no surprise that I have been led to Visionary Art. In fact, it was Jung himself who coined the term “Visionary Art” in the 1930s, to describe artwork that arises from altered states of consciousness, typically with spiritual or mystical themes.
My work is derived almost entirely from visions received during meditation and other spiritual practices. While these images have deep personal relevance, they also connect with others to become portals of mystical contemplation.
Several years ago, I became aware of my ability to receive the visions and energies of and for others, translating them into beautiful, often revelatory works of art. It is with great joy that I offer to share this gift with clients in private sessions and commissions.
